About Me

Hello, my name is Fiona. I have always had a passion for history having received a BA hons in history from The Open University many years ago. I started researching my own family history back in 2012 when I inherited a large chest of family heirlooms from my grandparents.

I have a strong interest in Irish and East Anglian genealogy as well as the lives of U.K. agricultural labouring families. My own family history covers East Anglia, North East England and Ireland. Through clients, I have also gained experience researching Scottish, Welsh and American ancestry.

Before becoming a genealogist, I was a teacher for over ten years, using the skills gained in the classroom, I offer my clients a warm, friendly first class service and professionally researched reports. My previous career means that I also have a thorough understanding of the need for professionalism, confidentiality and accurate record-keeping.

I am a member of a number genealogical societies including: The Society of Genealogists, Suffolk Family History Society, Cambridgeshire & Huntingdonshire Family History Society and I am also an associate of AGRA (Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives).

I can offer a wide variety of genealogical services both here in the UK and in Ireland including: family history research, house history research, the production of family trees, fact checking, archival look ups and support for those starting out or stuck on a tricky ancestor.
