Frequently Asked Questions

1) How long will it take?

Research typically takes 6–8 weeks for one to two surnames, and approximately 8–12 weeks for four surnames. This allows sufficient time to order necessary documents and write up the findings.

2) Can you guarantee to find my ancestors?

While every effort is made to uncover your family’s history as fully as possible, no genealogist can guarantee the discovery of specific ancestors. The success of research depends on the availability and condition of surviving records which can vary significantly in both quality and completeness. In the rare instance that a particular family line cannot be traced, I will contact you to discuss your options.

3. Can you include my own information?

Absolutely! The inclusion of your own personal touches is what makes each Heritage Package truly special. During the consultation process you are very welcome to share any photographs or family stories you would like included in the final document. If you think of something you would like to add later on, that's totally fine. Additional items can be incorporated at any point up until when the final payment is made. Your family history is unique and your input helps bring it to life.
